Why Join FALJC?

Why Should I Join FALJC?
FALJC has been in the forefront on core issues of importance to the administrative law judiciary, which this past year focused on fundamental judicial challenges to the authority and independence of ALJs, and more generally on the crucial role of administrative agencies in the federal government.

FALJC keeps track of items of importance to our members, including judicial proceedings, legislative activity, ALJ job openings, and agency-specific news and information. As a FALJC member you will receive news announcements, full access to our website, and invitations to our monthly online meetings. Members also have the opportunity to attend our Annual Seminar at reduced member rates. The Annual Seminar, held in a different location each year, offers a specialized program of topics that are of particular interest to federal ALJs, and provides members a chance to meet and socialize with colleagues from all over the United States.

As a member of FALJC, you may join the ABA Judicial Division and the National Conference of the Administrative Law Judiciary (NCALJ) for significantly reduced annual dues.

The resources for our efforts can only come from you. Membership in FALJC is limited to current federal Administrative Law Judges duly appointed under 5 U.S.C. Section 3105. Retired federal ALJs are also invited to join FALJC.  If you have not already, please consider joining FALJC today.

Free Trial Membership
Newly appointed federal ALJs and sitting federal ALJs who have never been a FALJC member can enjoy a free trial membership.  The free trial membership runs from the date the form is filled out until the next May 31.  Free trial members do not qualify for discounted rates for the FALJC Annual Educational Seminar.

Annual Membership
Anyone who has been appointed and is serving as a federal Administrative Law Judge is eligible to be a voting member of FAJC for an annual membership fee of $160. Retired federal ALJs may serve as non-voting members at the reduced annual rate of $25. Both voting and non-voting members may serve on FALJC committees but only voting members may serve as Officers and on the Executive Committee. All paid members are eligible for discounted rates for the FALJC Annual Educational Seminar.

Lifetime Membership
For a one-time fee of $1,750, a member who is 62 or older may become a lifetime member of FALJC.

Sustaining Membership
For an additional $25, a FALJC member may become a sustaining member to further help support FALJC initiatives.

FALJC Plus ABA Membership
FALJC members are eligible to bundle their membership dues with annual ABA dues at the reduced ABA rate of $130. Annual ABA dues include membership in the ABA Judicial Division and the National Conference of the Administrative Law Judiciary.
